High Five was a jam band. Originally conceived as a blues project, it turned
into more of an improv band with varying influences. While attending a local
community college, I recruited Scott Denmon to play drums and the rest is
history.
A good band that was suffering from isolation in the deep mountains of western
North Carolina, greener pastures were inevitably calling Scott and Brooks.
They broke away from High Five to devote their efforts to a new band they
were forming called Space Monkey. So High Five played its last show on 29
Oct 1996 at The Library in Cashiers, NC. to a packed house and raucous crowd.
