Williams Stuff...

Williamstuff, vol. 1 :
Williams, lead voice for Delta 9, pops out of his cocoon to offer behind the scenes insights on Delta 9's "Small Time Band" for future curious listeners...

ACT TWO ( 25.19)
(13): Blurb 6 - 0.52 An excerpt from the six-and-a-half minute piece "Shit Estate" which can be found in its full-length glory on "A Delta 9 XMas."

(14): Transcontinental BeBop - 4.11
Listen, kids, as the fascist lead singer devours a Shure SM-57 ! This song could get pretty strange, especially during live performances. Lots of screaming, dissonance, and noise. Looking back, I don't think that Ron Orr (bass guiitar) really liked or understood the point of this tune. Anyway, this particular version shines maybe just a little bit of light as to what we were trying to do. Your interpretation will probably vary.

(15): Blurb 7 - 0.46 A strange set of introductions back in the days when I was still something of a sane young man. P.S. I'm searching for episodes of "The Young Ones" on DVD !

(16): California Song - 2.48 Dedicated to all of the Lesbian and Bisexual Babes that populate the Playboy Mansions and to Debra Jo Fondren. This is, in actuality, part six of concept album that I was working on about a Yuppie femme and her Butch girlfriend who was a heroin addict. Nothing but this song ever became of it. Aren't you glad ? Liquid sax and guitar by Morton and Duncan

(17): Colours From An Old Flashback - 3.17 A groovy little shuffle that always seemed to drag with this particular band. It wasn't until The Breathing Method that this song found its sound. I wish that Greg Walker (drums) and Ron Orr (bass ) could have kicked out the jams a bit more on this. Lounge Music for a non-descriptive Jet-Set Age.

(18): Blurb 8 - 0.09 Eternal and external apologies to the late Jim Henson and Frank Oz, creators of "The Muppet Show." This was done out of love and tribute, not parody. I would have loved to have seen Jimi Hendrix jam "Red House" with Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem.

(19): Alpha's End - 4.42 Anti-government lyrics meet Steely Dan on Thorazine or: a short visit to the nightclub at the end of the Universe.

(20): Blurb 9 - 0.11 Imagine being a fly on the wall during one of our rehearsals. Okay, then, don't. SSSSWWWAAAAATTTTT !!!!!

(21): What's Real - 5.10 This version is okay but it doesn't really have the drive of other better versions. It's still a shame that we never got around to performing this one live. As you can probably tell, I'm still working on the lyrics here.

(22): Blurb 10 - 3.10
I try to rap and end up falling flat on my fat white Prog Rock ass. Feel free to have a laugh at my expense. You can bet that ol' DJ Waleed didn't stick around for this shit. Can't say that I blame him.

Act Three ( 25.46 )

(23): Rainbow Flags - 25.46 The basic message to this song is simply that (1): We're all so well-behaved these days and (2): The Politically - Correct movement has really helped to kill a lot of great comedy. Do you REALLY think that Sam Kinison's act would go over well these days or that Cheech and Chong could get away with making "Up In Smoke" ? Think about it. After Ron Orr (bass) and Donnie Morton (alto sax) left the group, Dan Taylor became the bassist. This multi-faceted Jam session came from one of our first rehearsals with Dan. We never played any live gigs with Mr. Taylor but I liked his aggressive style and attitude and our sound became more hard-edged because of it. Within a month of his joining, Delta 9 broke up, due to internal squabbling between Greg and I. Sometimes a recording can be more powerful than a photograph and sometimes it's a real pain to be misunderstood.

Thanks for reading and listening.
